There is a high probability that you came here looking for an answer to the question of how to pass the GCP Professional Cloud Architect exam? If so, I hope you can find some helpful information here. I’m not going to list all the questions you might come across here, nothing like that. I will try to bring you closer to the scope of the material, what the exam itself looks like, and what materials may be useful for you when preparing for the GCP Professional Cloud Architect exam. …

In its official sources, AWS recommends taking the exam when we already have at least one year of experience in working with the platform. Having practical experience is useful, but not essential. If you have already started exploring the AWS cloud, this is a good time to consider whether it is worth starting to prepare for this exam. If you do not have an account with AWS yet, there is no other starting route than registration. AWS offers Free Tier, during which you have the opportunity to use many services at no cost. Solution Architect Associate exam is the best choice to start with the AWS certification route. Its scope is quite wide, but not too detailed. It is also a great way to start your adventure with the cloud. …

In the first post in this series, we explained what the Serverless Framework is for and what problems it can solve. In the second article, we went through the setup of the environment and launched hello-world functions in AWS. It’s time for probably the last article in this series, where we will analyze a more interesting and a bit more complex example of a stack built with the Serverless Framework. Perhaps in the future, I will try to supplement this series with an article in which I will show project migrations from AWS to GCP. At the moment, let’s face it, Serverless Framework is best suited for working with AWS. In the case of Google Cloud and other vendors, the list of resources that we can create and manage with the Serverless Framework is much less. …

In the previous article in this series, I described what Serverless Framework is and what problems it solves. In this part we will deal with its installation, then we will configure it to work with the AWS cloud, and finally, I will present you a few tools that will make it easier for you to work with both Serverless Framework and the cloud itself. …

Entering the world of Serverless and FaaS (Function-as-a-Service) solutions, we can feel the WOW effect. Especially if we previously worked with complex platforms, the implementation of which required the coordinated work of many teams. How is it possible that now I can implement my piece of code and with a few clicks or commands it will be publicly available? I don’t have to configure any virtual or networks anymore? Oh yes! The implementation of a simple virtual function to the cloud actually seems very easy. But it is also not much more difficult to implement a classic server application on a VM in the cloud. Everything here comes down to the scale of the project. The implementation of a complex system based on e.g. the Lambda function may turn out to be equally difficult, if not more so. Many modern systems based on microservice architecture consist of tens or even hundreds of loosely connected services. The same function-based system would probably be even more granular, possibly consisting of thousands of functions. Are you still just as optimistic when you think about implementing a small functionality in such a system? You can probably already imagine the chaos in managing such a large functional codebase. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be all that dramatic. Along with the development of FaaS solutions, a tool supporting the creation of platforms based on this model began to appear on the market. …

The preparations and the CKAD exam are behind me. So the time has come to summarize and write down experiences that may help someone of you pass this exam. In this post, I will try to introduce you to Kubernetes certification. I will present materials that will help you prepare well for the CKAD exam. I will also post some tips that will definitely be useful during the exam.

What does the CKAD exam look like?

The Kubernetes Certification Program is under the care of Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), in collaboration with The Linux Foundation. It is this authority that is the issuer of the certificate. The Kubernetes exams differ from other cloud exams. All Kubernetes exams (CKAD, CKA, CKS) are 100% practical. You will not encounter any open or closed questions here. The exam consists of solving tasks on the Kubernetes cluster that will be made available to you during the exam. Your only working tool will be the terminal. Yes, the terminal. …
